Our Story

My name is Maria Isabel (aka Mari) and I created this brand for people who care about their wellbeing, everything from what they eat, to movement like dance and Pilates, to their mental health. I created it for people who are culturally Catholic, or who hold some kind of spiritual belief. This brand is for people who are corporate with a side of hood, or at least a sprinkle of it. People who code switch at work and around their family and friends, and who also sub code switch with their biculturality, Latina roots and U.S. culture.

Palma y Sol is for people who like Natalia Lafourcade’s music and what she stands for, like in the song “Derecho de Nacimiento,” and for people who also love soul music. For everyone who loves to learn, whether in the classroom, through reading, or by asking the internet questions, especially when that learning is about justice and history.

For everyone who loves coffee and salads but also tacos, especially a vegan one, or one piled with refried beans, salsa (the spicy kind), guacamole, and maybe cabbage. For everyone who pulls over excited when they see someone selling fruit on a corner. For those who love the beach but also the chaos of a city. For those who make unforgettable summer memories but are introverted the rest of the year.

I created this brand for you, because this is also who I am.
